Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda on Monday said that they were not embarrassed for the performance of the Election Commission led by him.
Addressing the last press conference of the outgoing Election Commission at the commission premises, the CEC said that they tried their best in the last five years of their tenure.
Responding to a question whether their activities and operations would embarrass them after their retirement, he also said, ‘There is no embarrassment and there will be no embarrassment as we didn’t have any shortcoming.’
He said that holding all the elections even amid the Covid-19 situation was a big success of the commission while loss of lives in electoral violence was a failure of the commission.
Election commissioner Mahbub Talukdar did not appear in the press conference.
Mahbub Talukdar, however, talked to the reporters in a separate press conference.
